Historical Background
INUA! was Founded by Francis Ndagize who was born in Uganda from Parents who flee from the Genocide War in Rwanda. While working in Rural Northern Uganda, He Noticed the pain Rural Children, their mothers and girls were experiencing in a War recovering community in Northern Uganda. Children were exposed to all forms of discriminations coupled with disempowerment.
On independence day Celebration (Uhuru Day) 9th October of 2023 as he was visiting one family in Orit Parish Agweng sub county Lira District he came across a family whose daughter was fatally raped by rural men celebrating Independence day and her mother threatened not to speak but both the Girl and Mom were left in tears and consoling themselves, When Francis Asked them what he could do to help, The Mother of Cen Doris Said, Help me and uplift my Daughter!!!!
If i had power and influence these men would not do such on my Child said Achiro Dorcus the mother of Acen.

Hence the name INUA! which means to UPLIFT OR TO ELEVATE in Kiswahili. Action was taken against the perpetrators and they faced the law and justice came to he family but there was more to be done to elevate and uplift the family than just an instant action. From that Time INUA! was Born started supporting Children to in school especially girls and run elevation programs for women. The story of Acen is the story of so many girls and their mothers in rural and war recovering spaces like northern Uganda where women are not respected and down-prest and trodden upon,Women struggle with livelihood among other areas, children face dificulties to access education and other opportunities.
